With two-step verification, also known as two-factor authentication (2FA), you add an extra check when logging in to your account. This check takes place after you have entered your email address and password.
As a result, your password alone is not enough to access your account. This makes it more difficult for malicious parties to log in, even if they know your password.
You can choose from three different methods for two-step verification:
You can easily activate two-factor authentication (2FA) in your account. You can do this by logging in on the website, going to ‘Settings’ and activating 2FA under ‘Secure account’.
If you choose a verification code by SMS or email, you will receive a unique code after entering your email address and password. You then enter this code on the website. Only after that will you gain access to your account.
You will receive a new code for each login attempt.
If you choose verification via an authenticator app, you use the code from your authenticator app after entering your email address and password to confirm the login attempt.
It is possible to activate multiple methods, for example both SMS and email.
