Savings plan and precious metals account
Can I open a savings plan for my grandchild?

No, you cannot open a child account or savings plan in your grandchild’s name yourself. Only parents or legal representatives can create a child account for a minor child.

You can, however, open a savings plan within your own account and give this savings plan your grandchild’s name. For each savings plan, you can see how many grams of precious metals have been built up within that savings plan. This allows you to keep track for yourself of which part you are saving for your grandchild.

The savings plan remains part of your own account and is therefore not in your grandchild’s name. Purchases within this savings plan are therefore added to one and the same precious metals account.

Would you like the savings plan to be in your grandchild’s name? Then the parent or legal representative of your grandchild must open a child account themselves. In that case, your children will need to save for your grandchild.
