Gold rises on disappointing U.S. data
Gold is up more than 1% on Monday morning to its highest level in the past two weeks. This happened under the influence of disappointing figures from the United States and an increase in gold positions by SPDR Gold Trust for the first time in more than two months. The gold position increased by 0.2% to 911.13 tonnes.
Wall Street closed Friday, August 9, with its worst week since June. The share price fell from record highs, while investors were focused on the prospect of stimulus by the Fed.
