Have you inherited precious metals? First identify which precious metals you have inherited and what their current value is. You can then decide together with the other heirs whether you want to divide, keep or sell the precious metals. The value of the precious metals is distributed among the heirs in accordance with the will or the statutory rules of inheritance.
If you have inherited gold, silver, platinum or palladium, you can contact Holland Gold on +31 88 468 8400 or via our customer service for guidance on valuing or selling it.
Whether the precious metals can be physically divided depends on the number and sizes of the bars and coins. If physical division is not possible, the precious metals can be allocated to one or more heirs or sold.
In that case, please contact us. We would first like to receive a death certificate. For further processing, we generally also need a certificate of inheritance and, where the distribution is recorded in it, a deed of distribution. Depending on the situation, additional documents may be required.
Once the documents have been checked, we can carry out the settlement of the estate. The precious metals can be physically delivered, sold or remain stored with Holland Gold Safe. In the latter case, we transfer the precious metals into the name of the relevant heir or heirs. Gold, silver, platinum or palladium held in a precious metals account and stored with us can also be handled in accordance with the deed of distribution.
