Update #7: Delivery times for gold and silver

We will keep you informed on a weekly basis of the latest developments regarding delivery times. As discussed earlier, due to the recent increase in demand for physical precious metals, the waiting time has increased sharply. In this weekly update, we update you on the current situation in the market and expected delivery times.

Compared to a week ago the availability of gold coins has improved significantly. We can now order gold Krugerrand and Maple Leaf coins again. Several mints are restarting production and smelters are once again supplying large numbers of gold bars. Most silver coins are still hard to come by. Below you can see the current indication of the delivery times for new orders.

What delivery times do we expect?

Gold bars

The expected delivery times for gold bars have not changed compared to last week. Due to a sharp increase in demand, long delivery times have arisen here. However, many gold bars are already being delivered. Smelter C. Hafner expects all newly ordered gold bars within three to four weeks to be able to deliver it. For gold bars of Umicore the expected delivery time is four to six weeks. We can deliver gold bars that are in stock immediately.

Gold Coins

Most gold coins are now readily available again. For example, we can supply the gold Krugerrand, Philharmoniker and Kangaroo coins from stock at the time of writing. We also have a large stock Gold Maple Leaf coins from various years a cost-effective alternative to new Maple Leaf coins.

Silver bars

Silver bars are sold less often due to the VAT of 21%. At the moment we can supply silver bars of the brand Remondis in limited quantities. These have an expected delivery time of one to two weeks. These silver bars, like the bars of Umicore LBMA certified. We expect a large delivery of Umicore silver bars next week, which means that we will be able to deliver a large number of orders again. The next big delivery of Umicore silver bars will take place in four weeks.

Silver bars of 1,000 troy ounces in combination with storage in Switzerland are currently readily available, expected within 1 to 2 weeks. The smaller silver bars of 100 troy ounces are currently difficult to deliver, because we cannot yet order them from the Royal Canadian Mint.

Silver Coins

For most new silver coins, there is still little concrete information about delivery times. That is why we still take into account delivery times of 8 to 12 weeks. This is due to the high demand for coins and temporary closure of several mints due to the coronavirus. We are currently unable to order many coins from our suppliers.

Next week we expect a delivery of silver Maple Leaf coins from various years, so we can deliver them in the short term. Currently, the silver 2 troy ounce coins from the Queens Beasts series of the Royal Mint Available from stock. The silver Kangaroo coins can also be ordered, for these coins we expect a delivery time of three weeks.
