In 2013, the Royal Canadian Mint achieved a historically high turnover of 3.4 billion dollars and 48 million profit before tax. This is the highest turnover figure in history, the Royal Canadian Mint.
New records were set on the sale of gold and silver. Sales of gold Maple Leafs increased 47.7% to 1.14 million ounces. Sales of silver Maple Leafs were also on the rise with 55.8% to 28.2 million ounces compared to last year.
In addition, the demand for numismatic coins has risen to an all-time high. The offer of the Royal Canadian Mint in 2013 consists of 200 different numismatic coins, of which 70 coins are sold out at the end of 2013.
The Royal Canadian Mint produced 2.6 billion coins and rondelles in 2013 and shipped them to 17 different countries. The mint's research and development department won the prize Best New Coin Innovation within which was awarded by the International Association of Currency Affairs (IACA) for the advanced security features of the $1 and $2 coins issued in 2012.
