Harm Beertema: "Geert Wilders doesn't want a breeding ground but blind affection"

For the Holland Gold podcast, Paul Buitink talks with former PVV MP Harm Beertema about the new Schoof cabinet and the work as a Member of Parliament for the PVV. He discusses the challenges of that party and gives us insights into the leadership of Geert Wilders.

Harm makes a number of political predictions about the cabinet and the consequences for the coalition parties in the event of new elections. He thinks that the PVV could lose it because they have put many positions on hold. He has changed his mind about a Nexit because he thinks that Brussels' vindictiveness will hurt the Netherlands too much.

Harm also looks back on the dramatic first debate and talks about the mutual interaction between MPs, polarisation in society and social cohesion.

Finally, they discuss the crisis in Dutch education and what he would do as education minister to get things back in order.
