Elmer Hogervorst on alarming demographic figures and the effect of water levels on stock market prices

In this episode, Elmer Hogervorst is a guest at Holland Gold Interviews. Elmer is a tax lawyer, speaker, trades on the foreign exchange markets, assists wealthy individuals and co-authored the books "Money, Gold and Silver" and "Deflation on the Horizon" with Eric Mecking.

Together with Elmer, Sven talks about the influence of demography on the prosperity and economic growth of countries. According to Elmer, people spend the most money at the age of about 46, the so-called spending wave. So we have to look at the number of births 46 years ago to be able to make a prediction. In his models, he shows how this has had an impact in the past and what influence it will have in the future.

He paints a bleak future for Italy, the Netherlands, and Japan. The U.S. will do better than these countries. From the BRICS, India, Brazil and South Africa will see a new wave of spending, where Russia and China are lagging far behind. Finally, we talk about the correlation between water levels and stock market prices. Elmer uses the water levels to predict what the stock market will do. He expects a bottom around Sept. 11. Looking at the long term, he expects a very strong recovery with a top in early February 2024.
