"Banks must now stop exchanging data on a massive scale and violate privacy" - Simon Lelieveldt

Paul Buitink talks to compliance expert Simon Lelieveldt, who is also founder and board member of Human Rights in Finance. Simon is committed to compliance with rules and fundamental rights in the financial system. These are currently being systematically violated, which leads to discrimination, loss of bank account, but also cybercrime and loss of privacy.

In this conversation, Simon mainly focuses on the latter. He is in the process of getting Transaction Monitoring Netherlands, an initiative of the major banks, to stop. This is where 10 billion transactions are now illegally stored and processed. The fight against fraud has gone too far in this respect. On 19 June, Simon will meet with DNB to enforce this. Next steps will be legal.
