Ab Flipse & Kees de Kort warn of war economy: prosperity and security at stake

In this episode a unique composition: Paul Buitink talks to Ab Flipse and Kees de Kort. In addition to being well-known opinion makers, Ab Flipse has started a new platform, gryp.it and Kees de Kort has a new podcast at BNR, from Alle Markten thuis.

According to the gentlemen, politicians and the media are preparing minds for a war economy. Ab is generally in favour of a strong defence, but at the same time, according to him, people do not realise the consequences of a war economy and we as Europe are no match for Russia.

Kees is bothered by what he sees as one-sided reporting on the origins of the war in Ukraine and the war rhetoric of many Dutch politicians and Dutch military experts. According to him, they do not take into account all the facts in their assessment, otherwise they would come to a different conclusion. There is also a middle ground; We should talk to Russia if we want to achieve peace in the short term.

But is there really no threat to Europe or the Netherlands? Paul asks how we should look at statements on Russian TV that speak of "Lisbon to Luhansk"? And Medvedev's map where he divided Ukraine among a number of countries.
