Philharmoniker 1/10 troy ounce gold coin

The Wiener Philharmoniker is the most sought-after European gold coin and also enjoys worldwide popularity as an official investment currency. The gold Wiener Philharmoniker was first issued by the Austrian Mint on 10 October 1989. The gold coin is named after the famous Viennese orchestras. The gold coin has been a resounding success on an international level and was named the most successful coin in the world in 1992, 1995, 1996 and 2000.

The Vienna Philharmoniker coin is minted in pure gold 999.9/1000 (24 carats) and is the official gold coin of Austria, also called Philharmoniker. It was first minted in 1989 and has been minted every year since. Statistics from the World Gold Council show that the Philharmoniker was the best-selling gold coin in 1992, 1995, 1996 and 2000. Austria follows Britain on foot and is the second European country to officially issue gold coins.

The currency has a status of legal payment in the European countries where the euro is used. Before Austria joined, the face value of the Philharmonikers was still expressed in Austrian shillings. The gold Philharmoniker is printed in 4 different values, sizes and weights. This includes the 1 ounce, 1/2 ounce, 1/4 ounce and 1/10 ounce.

The world-famous Vienna Philharmonic Concert is the inspiration for these coins and is therefore also depicted on the obverse of the coins. The reverse is depicted with ''the Great Organ in the golden hall of Vienna's Musikverein. Above the ''Great Organ'' are the words ''Republik Österreich''. In addition, the weight, purity content and year of issue are also shown on this side. No VAT is levied on these coins. Delivered directly from the refinery and is originally packaged in mint capsules.

Gold offers protection in times of inflation
In the long term, gold retains its value, while currencies lose a lot of purchasing power. An example of the value retention of gold is that 2,000 years ago you could buy a tailor-made suit for one gold coin and that is still the case today.

The gold reserves at central banks act as the backing of a money system. According to DNB, gold is an 'anchor of trust': "If the entire financial system collapses, the gold supply provides collateral to start over."
Gold is a mainstay in the investment portfolio

Gold strengthens the portfolio through its long-term returns and diversification. Its traditional role as a safe haven means that gold is an asset in times of crisis, moving in the opposite direction to the rest of the portfolio.
