We purchase virtually all commonly traded platinum bullion coins from recognised mints. Platinum bullion coins are easy to identify by their fixed weight, high platinum purity and official issuing mints. As a result, these coins are internationally well tradable and you will generally receive a competitive bid price based on the current platinum price.
Well-known platinum bullion coins include:
Platinum bullion coins are produced by recognised mints such as the Royal Canadian Mint, Münze Österreich, United States Mint, The Royal Mint and The Perth Mint. These coins are globally known for their high quality, fixed specifications and strong tradability. Most platinum bullion coins contain at least 99.95% pure platinum.
In addition to platinum coins, we also purchase platinum bars from recognised producers. For platinum bars produced by LPPM-certified refiners, we generally offer a higher bid price because these bars are easily tradable worldwide.
LPPM stands for the London Platinum and Palladium Market, the international authority that sets quality and integrity standards for the platinum and palladium market, comparable to the role of the LBMA for gold and silver.
LPPM-certified platinum bars are generally marked with the producer’s logo or name, a weight indication and a purity of at least 99.95% platinum. In many cases, the bar also includes a serial number.
Do you own a platinum bar from a producer that is not listed in our buy-back tool? Please feel free to contact us by phone for a no-obligation valuation or price indication.
In addition to platinum, we also purchase palladium coins from recognised mints. Palladium bullion coins are less common internationally than gold or silver bullion coins, but are valued by specialised investors because of the scarcity and industrial applications of palladium.
Well-known palladium bullion coins include:
Would you like to sell palladium bars? Please contact us by phone for a no-obligation price indication, as we only purchase palladium bars on an occasional basis.

Holland Gold works with the spot price: the current market price at which platinum and palladium are traded internationally. Our bid prices are automatically adjusted every minute in line with the current international price.
The final bid price for your platinum or palladium depends on factors including:
Through our buy-back tool, you can see in realtime what percentage we are paying for your platinum or palladium at that moment. In certain market conditions, the percentage relative to the spot price may be adjusted, for example due to changes in supply and demand. These adjustments are always immediately reflected in our tool, ensuring you always see the most up-to-date bid price.
Once you confirm by phone, we immediately fix your selling price. After that, rises or falls in the price will no longer affect the agreed amount. You can also sell your gold and silver to us.
Platinum and palladium bars are subject to 21% VAT at the time of purchase. Businesses that have reclaimed this VAT are required to charge 21% VAT to Holland Gold when selling back, on top of the buy-back percentage we pay at that moment.
Private individuals cannot reclaim VAT and therefore pay relatively more when purchasing platinum bars. For this reason, we recommend that private buyers consider platinum held in our VAT-free storage in Switzerland, or coins from various years where VAT is only charged on the dealer’s margin. In practice, VAT generally does not play a role when selling these products to Holland Gold.
For platinum and palladium coins, we distinguish between two groups of sellers.
Higher buy-back price:
Private individuals and businesses that purchased their platinum or palladium coins without reclaiming VAT generally receive the higher percentage of the spot price.
Lower buy-back price including VAT:
Businesses that purchased their platinum or palladium coins with 21% VAT and reclaimed it receive a lower percentage of the spot price, but charge 21% VAT to Holland Gold.
Through our buy-back tool, you can see in realtime which percentages we pay for your platinum or palladium. Do you have questions about your specific situation? Please feel free to contact us.
