It is time for a new Holland Gold event! On 8 October, we are taking the conversations from our podcast out of the studio and into the theatre. At Theater Figi in Zeist, we will bring together familiar podcast guests, viewers, listeners and customers for Freedom and Wealth 2026: an evening about the future of the Netherlands and Europe, as well as how you can protect and build your wealth in this changing world.
We are living in a rapidly changing and unsettled time. Many people feel that their future prosperity and freedom are coming under increasing pressure. Taxes are rising, companies are leaving, regulations are piling up and privacy is being further restricted. At the same time, social tensions and rapid technological developments are creating additional uncertainty.
What lies behind these developments? Why do freedom and economic prosperity seem to be becoming less self-evident? What does the current political course mean for the future of the Netherlands in a new, multipolar world? What position can the Netherlands occupy within Europe? And what role can Europe continue to play on the world stage if we remain on the current path?
During the first part of the evening, philosophers Ad Verbrugge and Andreas Kinneging will discuss these questions under the guidance of Jort Kelder. However, the evening will not be limited to analysis and criticism. The central question is how things can be improved. What is needed to give the Netherlands and Europe a freer and more prosperous future? And which choices must we make today to achieve that?
During the second part of the evening, the focus will shift from social and geopolitical developments to the financial decisions you can make yourself. Wealth provides freedom and protection in uncertain times. It also enables you to care for your family and leave something valuable to future generations.
But how can you protect and grow your wealth in a period of high debt, inflation, geopolitical tensions and the rapid rise of AI? What opportunities are emerging, and which risks should investors take into account?
Jeroen Blokland, Jeroen Vandamme and Bert Slagter will discuss how you can prepare financially for the future. They will examine the role that equities, precious metals, bitcoin and other investments can play.
Afterwards, we warmly invite you to join us for drinks. Over a drink, you can continue discussing the evening’s insights, exchange experiences with other attendees and meet the speakers.
