Lunar 2020 2 troy ounce gold coin

The 10 troy ounce gold Lunar mouse 2020 coin was minted by The Perth Mint on the occasion of the Chinese New Year 2020 "the year of the mouse". The gold coin is minted in 2 troy ounces (31.1 grams) and 999.9 pure gold and comes in a protective hard plastic coin capsule.

The gold Lunar is of interest to investors and collectors because of its limited mintage, high purity, and unique design.

The Australian Lunar 2020 gold 10 troy ounce coin celebrates the Year of the Mouse. The mouse is one of the twelve animals associated with the Chinese monthly calendar. The birth years used for the rooster of the past 100 years are: 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996 and 2008 and 2020. People born in these years are associated with the competencies: smart, especially when it comes to their own survival.

This coin has been minted with care with a purity content of 999.9. In the precious metals world, this is the highest attainable quality of purity for a gold coin. The coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965. The coin has a face value of 100 Australian dollars.

There is no mintage limit in place on the Australian Lunar 2020 coin in the year 2020. The coin will be discontinued after 2020 and after this event, the Perth Mint will release an official mintage.

The obverse of the coin features Queen Elizabeth II and the face value of the coin is indicated. On the reverse of the coin are the words Year of the Mouse, these words mean Year of the Mouse.
