The Maple Leaf 1 troy ounce (31.1 grams) palladium coin is issued by the Royal Canadian Mint. It is struck from the highest quality palladium with a purity of 99.95%. The coin has a nominal face value of 50 Canadian dollars, but its real value is based on the palladium price, which is significantly higher. Like the gold and silver Maple Leaf coins, it features the iconic Canadian maple leaf design. Thanks to its recognizable appearance, the coin is popular among investors worldwide and easy to trade.
Palladium is a rare precious metal primarily used in the automotive industry for catalytic converters. It is also used in electronics, dentistry, and jewelry. The combination of scarcity and industrial demand makes palladium an attractive investment metal.
These coins have been purchased from private sellers and were previously in circulation. Therefore, we do not charge 21% VAT on them. You can buy VAT-free physical palladium per gram at the most competitive price, safely stored in Switzerland.
The obverse of the coin features the portrait of the British monarch — Queen Elizabeth II (coins from 2005–2023) or King Charles III (2023–present). It also displays the nominal value of 50 dollars and the year of issue. The reverse shows “Canada,” the purity of 99.95%, and the weight of 1 troy ounce of pure palladium. It also bears the inscriptions “Fine Palladium / Palladium Pur” in both English and French, Canada’s two official languages. Most prominently, the iconic maple leaf is depicted — the national symbol of Canada since the 1700s, representing the country’s natural heritage. The eleven points on the leaf have no official meaning, though it is often said they symbolize the ten provinces and the federal government.
The palladium Maple Leaf was first issued by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2005. It is one of the few official palladium bullion coins in the world and is minted in limited quantities. Alongside the American Eagle, it is the only palladium coin produced by a major international mint. The coin was issued in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, and again from 2015 to the present.
