Philharmoniker 1/2 troy ounce gold coin

The Wiener Philharmoniker is the most sought-after European gold coin and also enjoys worldwide popularity as an official investment currency. The gold Wiener Philharmoniker was first issued by the Austrian Mint on 10 October 1989. The gold coin is named after the famous Viennese orchestras. The gold coin has been a resounding success on an international level and was named the most successful coin in the world in 1992, 1995, 1996 and 2000.

The golden Wiener Philharmoniker is named after the world-famous orchestra of the same name. Thomas Pesendorfer is responsible for the design of the golden Wiener Philharmoniker. The design has remained unchanged since the first edition in 1989. The obverse of the gold coin depicts an array of musical instruments representing the famous Wiener Philharmoniker Orchester, including a cello, four violins, a horn, a bassoon and a zither. In the first year of issue, 351,000 gold Philharmoniker were produced. The Vienna Philharmoniker coin is minted in pure gold 999.9/1000 (24 carats) and is the official gold coin of Austria, also called Philharmoniker. The coin weighs 15.55 grams and also contains 15.55 grams of fine gold. It was first minted in 1989 and has been minted every year since. Statistics from the World Gold Council show that the Philharmoniker was the best-selling gold coin in 1992, 1995, 1996 and 2000. Due to the great success of the Philharmoniker, Austria also started minting and selling the silver Philharmoniker in 2008. Austria and Britain together are the only two countries in Europe that issue gold coins. The coin was minted in the Austrian mint in Vienna. This mint has a rich history with the minting of gold coins. For example, the Gold coin 100 Coronas The first gold Philharmoniker 1/2 OZ have a face value of 1000 Shillings. The later Philharmonikers, from 2001 with the introduction of the euro, have a face value of 50 Euro. They are minted every year and do not change their design.

Gold offers protection in times of inflation
Gold offers protection in times of inflation
In the long term, gold retains its value, while currencies lose a lot of purchasing power. An example of the value retention of gold is that 2,000 years ago you could buy a tailor-made suit for one gold coin and that is still the case today.

The gold reserves at central banks act as the backing of a money system. According to DNB, gold is an 'anchor of trust': "If the entire financial system collapses, the gold supply provides collateral to start over."
Gold is a mainstay in the investment portfolio

Gold strengthens the portfolio through its long-term returns and diversification. Its traditional role as a safe haven means that gold is an asset in times of crisis, moving in the opposite direction to the rest of the portfolio.
