In June 2012, for the first time since January, investments increased compared to the same period last year. This is evident from figures from the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) which were published last Monday. These figures show that in June this year the price was more than 3 percent higher than in June last year. In the previous month, there was still a contraction of 6 percent.
Statistics Netherlands (CBS) explains this growth by the fact that there is an increase in investments in transport equipment as a result of a change in tax legislation. As of July 2012, the limits for the addition to taxable income of passenger cars have been tightened. As a result, many entrepreneurs decided to purchase a car before 1 July. The contraction in investments in construction was less substantial than in May.
