Arno Wellens and Sander Boon on how to turn the tide of the CBDC and the European e-ID.

In this episode, Paul Buitink talks to financial journalist Arno Wellens and political scientist and founder of Geotrendlines Sander Boon. The reason for the conversation was a piece that Sander wrote for the biweekly magazine Gezond Verstand. In this article, Sander criticizes the vision of Arno Wellens and his followers on topics such as the CBDC, digital euro and the e-ID. In the conversation it appears that the gentlemen agree on some points and disagree on a number of points. Both point to the risks associated with the introduction of the digital euro and the e-ID. But while Sander is confident that the digital euro will not go ahead due to criticism from citizens and a new political wind in Europe, Arno is more sceptical.
