Lunar 2024 1 kilogram silver coin

The 1 kilogram silver Lunar Dragon 2024 coin was minted by The Perth Mint on the occasion of the Chinese New Year 2024 "the year of the Dragon". The silver coin is minted in 1000 grams, 999.9 pure silver and comes in a protective hard plastic coin capsule.

The silver Lunar is of interest to investors and collectors because of its limited mintage, high purity, and unique design.

The Australian Lunar 2024 celebrates the Year of the Dragon. The Dragon is one of the twelve animals associated with the Chinese monthly calendar. The birth years used for the Dragon over the past 100 years are: 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000 and 2012 and 2024. People born in these years are associated with the competencies: Courage and guts.

This coin has been minted with care with a purity content of 999.9. In the precious metals world, this is the highest attainable quality of purity for a silver coin. The coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965. The coin has a face value of 30 Australian dollars.

There is no mintage limit in effect on the Australian Lunar 2024 coin in the year 2024. The coin will be discontinued after 2024, and after this event, the Perth Mint will release an official mintage.

The obverse of the coin features Queen Elizabeth II and the face value of the coin is indicated. On the reverse of the coin are the words Year of the Dragon, these words mean Year of the Dragon.

People think of silver as the poor man's gold, which is absolutely the wrong way to look at it. Gold has the most monetary character, but silver moves in times when a financial system is under pressure, at least as much as gold.
