Lunar 2021 1 kilogram silver coin

The 1 kilo silver Lunar Ox 2021 coin was minted by The Perth Mint on the occasion of the Chinese New Year 2021 "the year of the ox". The silver coin is minted in 1 kilo (1000 grams) and 999.9 pure silver and comes in a protective hard plastic coin capsule.

The silver Lunar is of interest to investors and collectors because of its limited mintage, high purity, and unique design.

The Australian Lunar 2021 silver 1 kilo coin celebrates the Year of the Ox. The Ox is one of the twelve animals associated with the Chinese monthly calendar. The birth years used for the Ox over the past 100 years are: 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997 and 2009 and 2021. People born in these years are associated with the competencies of being smart, especially when it comes to their own survival.

This coin has been minted with care with a purity content of 99.99%. In the precious metals world, this is the highest attainable quality of purity for a silver coin. The coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965. The coin has a face value of twenty Australian dollars.

There is no mintage limit in effect on the Australian Lunar 2021 coin in the year 2021. The coin will be discontinued after 2021 and after this event, the Perth Mint will release an official mintage.

The obverse of the coin features Queen Elizabeth II and the face value of the coin is indicated. On the reverse of the coin is the text 'Ox 2021', these words have the meaning year of the Ox. In addition, there is an Ox on the reverse.
