The Silver Krugerrand was first introduced in 2017 to mark the 50th anniversary of the Gold Krugerrand and has since been issued annually by the South African Mint. The introduction of this silver version gave collectors and investors access to one of the most iconic bullion designs in history. Since then, the Silver Krugerrand has firmly established itself in the global precious metals market and is highly popular among Holland Gold clients.
Each 1 troy ounce Silver Krugerrand has the same resale value regardless of its year of issue. The various years coins have been acquired through the secondary market and typically date from 2017–2024. As the year cannot be chosen in advance, these coins are usually offered at a lower premium than the latest 2025 issue directly from the mint.
These coins are also exempt from 21% VAT. Having previously been in circulation and carefully sourced from private and institutional sellers, they offer a more favorable price. This allows you to purchase one of the world’s most recognized bullion coins with an additional financial advantage.
