Lunar 1/2 troy ounce silver coin - various years

The 1/2 troy ounce silver Lunar coin was minted by The Perth Mint on the occasion of the Chinese New Year. The silver coin is minted in 15.55 grams, 999.9 pure silver and comes in a protective soft plastic coin sachet.

The silver Lunar is of interest to investors and collectors because of its limited mintage, high purity, and unique design.

This coin has been minted with care with a purity content of 999.9. In the precious metals world, this is the highest attainable quality of purity for a silver coin. The coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965. The coin has a face value of 0.5 Australian dollars.

There is no circulation limit in force on the Australian Lunar. The coin will be deprecated at the end of each year, and after this event, the Perth Mint will release an official mintage.

The obverse of the coin features Queen Elizabeth II and the face value of the coin is indicated. On the reverse of the coin are the words Year of the ..., depending on the year of issue.
