The 1/20 troy ounce (1.55 grams) Gold Maple Leaf coin is globally recognized and highly tradable, featuring the iconic Canadian maple leaf on the reverse. The Maple Leaf is one of the world’s most popular and best-selling bullion coins.
The coins we offer come from various years between 1993 and 2024. First introduced in 1979, the Gold Maple Leaf was the world’s first bullion coin with a purity of 99.99%, or 24 carats. The 1/20 troy ounce denomination was added to the series in 1993.
The Maple Leaf is issued annually by The Royal Canadian Mint, a world-renowned mint known for its craftsmanship, reliability and exceptional quality.
The Gold Maple Leaf coin represents exceptional craftsmanship, security and refined design. The obverse features the official portrait of Queen Elizabeth II (1993–2023) or King Charles III (2024–present), along with the year of issue and a face value of 1 Canadian dollar. Over the years, four different portraits of Queen Elizabeth II have appeared on the coin. The reverse, designed by Walter Ott, depicts the iconic maple leaf – the national symbol of Canada – together with the weight and purity: “9999 FINE GOLD / OR PUR”. This side of the coin has remained virtually unchanged since its introduction.
