1 Ducat Austria

The 1 Ducat Austria was minted around 1915 in Austria. The coin is a reference of the original Austrian ducats. These ducats have a long history. The 1 Ducat Austria is struck in gold with a purity of 986/1000 or 23.6 carats. The coin weighs 3.49 grams and is especially popular as investment ducats. The ducat has a diameter of 20 mm and is 0.8 mm thick.

The Austrian Ducats owe their creation to a long rich history that the coin type carries with it. The original ducats were minted in 1140 by the commissioner Roger II of Sicily.
It wasn't until the 16th century that Austria began to produce its own ducats. From then on, the Austrian ducats became the official means of payment in Austria, this lasted until 1858. In this year, the Austrian mint seemed to lose its popularity as legal tender, it was saved by the Emperor of Austria. In 1857 he issued a proclamation approving the Austrian Ducat for further production as a trading currency.

On the obverse of the Austrian Ducat is an image of the Austrian Emperor and King of Hungary, Franz Josef I. He was the last great monarch of Europe. He reacted more than Austria and Hungary for 70 years until his death in 1916. On the reverse of the ducat is an image of a fierce two-headed emperor of the Habsburg dynasty. This image was chosen because the Habsburg emperors believed that they had inherited the Holy Roman Empire and therefore the world. Therefore, they designed a double guided eagle that was able to look both west and east at the same time. The eagle holds a sword and a sceptre in its right talon and a cross-bearing crown in its left.

Why buy gold at Holland Gold?

Gold offers protection in times of inflation
Gold offers protection in times of inflation
In the long term, gold retains its value, while currencies lose a lot of purchasing power. An example of the value retention of gold is that 2,000 years ago you could buy a tailor-made suit for one gold coin and that is still the case today.

The gold reserves at central banks act as the backing of a money system. According to DNB, gold is an 'anchor of trust': "If the entire financial system collapses, the gold supply provides collateral to start over."
Gold is a mainstay in the investment portfolio

Gold strengthens the portfolio through its long-term returns and diversification. Its traditional role as a safe haven means that gold is an asset in times of crisis, moving in the opposite direction to the rest of the portfolio.
